Job Description

Experience: Minimum of 2 years inpatient clinical experience, preferably in wound care
License: Required
Certifications: BLS, WOCN or WCEI

Must-Have:
– BLS Certification
– WOCN Certification (takes approximately 1 year to obtain) or WCEI Certification (takes up to 1 week to obtain)
– Experience with common diagnoses such as pressure injuries, diabetic ulcers, vascular wounds, surgical wounds, and ostomies

Description:
The role involves reviewing consults and dividing the workload with peers.
Patient assessments including head-to-toe evaluations are required.
Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, including doctors, social workers, and other nurses, is essential.
Responsibilities include placing wound care orders and providing patient education.
The workload will include approximately 20 consults per day, along with follow-ups.
The heaviest days are Mondays and Fridays.
Candidates should be comfortable using various wound care dressings and treatments, including KCI wound vacs.
Floating across inpatient areas, including medical-surgical, progressive care, intensive care units, and operating rooms may be necessary.
Shifts typically run from Monday to Friday, with optional weekend and holiday requirements.
There is no call or standby requirement associated with this position.
Scrubs should be royal blue, or casual dress is acceptable.
Orientation consists of one day of nursing orientation, with additional time provided with a preceptor as needed.
