**Job Title:** Registered Nurse
**Job Specialty:** Telemetry Float Pool
**Job Duration:** 16 weeks
**Shift:** 12-Hour Nights, with 4 weekend shifts per schedule
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 2 years of experience required
**License:** Active RN License
**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
**Must-Have:** Ability to titrate cardiac drips
**Job Description:**
– Auto offer off of prescreening.
– Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer (with a maximum of 2 attempts).
– Includes a pass/fail Sim Lab on day one of orientation; study guides will be provided.
– Must float between all Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units as needed.
– Possible floating to ICU, Cardiac Telemetry, various units, and holding areas such as Cath Lab, ER, observation floor, etc.
– Floating covers multiple campuses, which may require travel.
– Notification of campus and unit provided 1.5 hours before shift start.
– Mid-shift floating possible between units; rare to float campuses within a single shift.
– Must clock out before leaving one campus, then clock in when arriving at another.
– Navy scrubs are required.
– Common diagnoses include post-cath lab and vascular procedures, neurotransurgical recovery, and general telemetry patients.
– 12 hours of orientation are provided.
– Every other weekend is required.
– No pediatric patients; primarily 15 years or older.
– Floor-specific orientation is provided for 2 days on the floor before starting full responsibilities.
– Utilize Cerner for charting.
– Acute care setting requiring flexibility and adaptability.
