Shift: 12-Hour Nights; 4 weekend shifts per schedule

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Experience: Minimum of 2 years

License: Active RN License

Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Must-Have: Ability to titrate cardiac drips; Successful completion of dysrhythmia exam prior to signing contract (maximum of 2 attempts); Pass/Fail simulation lab on the first day of orientation.

Job Description:

– Floating between all Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units is required.
– Possible floatation to ICU, Cardiac Telemetry, and other holding areas like the Cath Lab, ER, observation floor, or even a hallway.
– Floating includes working between two campuses, typically 9 miles apart.
– Nurses must clock out before leaving one campus and clock in upon arrival at the other.
– First assigned to the observation floor, followed by other units.
– Notification of campus and unit is provided 1.5 hours prior to shift start.
– Rare occasions may require floating mid-shift to another campus.
– Provide care for patients in various units including but not limited to Post cath lab, post vascular procedures, day 2 CABG patients, general telemetry, neuro post-surgical, and MedSurg patients.
– Participates in centralized telemetry operations with the expectation to interpret EKGs.
– Work involves no vent management, but includes post-procedure care such as neuro post-surgical and spine.
– Includes a specific orientation on the floor for acclimatization.
– Engage with a team that includes a charge nurse, patient care techs, and a supportive clinical supervisor.
– Navy scrubs are required.
– Utilizes specified charting systems for documentation.
– Collaboration with hospital pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and hospitalists who are available around the clock.
