**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)
**Job Specialty:** Emergency Department Holds/Telemetry
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** 12-Hour Nights; 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; first to float, possible float to sister facility
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 2 years, recent within the past 6 months
**License:** RN License
**Certifications:** BLS, ACLS
**Must-Have:**
– Strong cardiac telemetry background (preferably 2 years)
– Ability to decrease cardiac drips as per physician’s orders and parameters
– Ability to read and interpret monitoring strips
– Pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of the job offer, with study guides provided
**Job Description:**
– Responsible for patients in the emergency department awaiting placement on a unit, primarily working with MS/Telemetry patients.
– Must be proficient in titrating drips such as Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone.
– No vents in the unit; nurses are expected to read their own strips without monitor techs.
– Ability to perform IV starts and medication administration, assist with patient vitals.
– Will float to med/surg/telemetry/overflow units as needed.
– Self-scheduling available; rotate holidays with permanent staff.
– No on-call requirements.
– Dress code requires navy scrubs.
– Orientation to include 2 shifts specific to Med/Surg/Telemetry.
Please note that nurses may be asked to assist with emergency department patients but will not be the primary RN for those patient assignments.
