Description:
This position involves performing direct patient care activities for all age groups.
Activities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
The RN will monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort.
Responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process to provide patient care for patients post trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities.
The RN must maintain professional accountability for the provision of patient care.
There will be a requirement to evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers.
Effective coordination of patient care in conjunction with other departments is essential.
The RN must uphold patient rights and confidentiality of patient information at all times.
This role requires the RN to perform duties consistently with established guidelines of nursing practice and relevant regulations.
Working conditions may involve standing and walking most of the time on duty.
The RN may need to perform significant bending, stooping, and lifting of patients with assistance.
Working schedules may vary according to patient care requirements, and high-risk exposure to blood and body fluids may occur.
Physical demands include, but are not limited to, pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs, and performing minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
The RN should be flexible, decisive, and adaptable to changing circumstances on the unit.
Maintaining a professional appearance in designated attire is expected.
