Description:
This position is for a Travel RN in the Telemetry specialty.
The unit has 18 beds with a total of 32 staff members.
The patient-to-nurse ratio is 5:1.
The unit uses Philips Monitors, Alaris Pumps, and glucometers among other equipment.
Documentation is done via Meditech.
Candidates should be team-oriented and focused on achieving positive patient outcomes.
They should thrive in a busy environment, be adaptable, and enjoy precepting new nurses.
The unit performs various surgeries, including minimally invasive procedures and ostomy care.
Common patient conditions include CHF, COPD, cellulitis, and sepsis.
We expect our staff to maintain high standards of behavior and customer service.
Effective communication with patients and families is prioritized.
All team members must assist with answering call lights and alarms.
Shift report is conducted at the bedside, reinforcing patient involvement in their care.
Rounding is purposeful and conducted hourly to assess patient needs proactively.
The role requires a partnership with Patient Care Technicians for daily tasks.
Evening shift staff must participate in structured interdisciplinary rounds.
Documentation of vital signs and patient assessments is a key responsibility for RNs.
Effective hand hygiene and standard precautions are mandatory.
Central line management and Foley catheter care must be performed according to protocols.
Continuous monitoring of patient conditions and prompt reporting to charge nurses is required.
Collaboration and communication with physicians and charge nurses is essential.
End-of-shift responsibilities include stocking supplies and verifying patient documentation.
