Description:
This is a 12-bed, 24-hour observation unit utilized by the heart and vascular service line.
Patients will be a combination of low acuity critical care patients awaiting placement in various cardiac and vascular stepdown units.
No ventilators, CRRT, or Impella devices will be accepted.
The unit accommodates LVADs, 2-4 drips, arterial lines, and PA catheters.
It is also an observation area for patients undergoing same-day procedures who may need extended monitoring before discharge.
The unit is fast-paced with high patient turnover and a variety of diagnoses.
It offers an excellent learning platform for cardiovascular procedures and diagnoses.
Working here develops organizational skills and critical thinking.
This opportunity enhances and fine-tunes critical care and assessment skills.
Required shift is the night shift with every other weekend duty.
Floating may be needed within the skill set.
Scrubs required are navy blue.
