Description:
Unit Notes:
Medical Solutions Pre-Screens, if clinical recommends AUTO OFFER.
Candidate is required to pass DYS exam prior to acceptance.
Nurse to Patient Ratios of 1:1-2.
Common diagnoses include Sepsis, GI Bleed, DKA, RotaProne Therapy, Heat Stroke, and Overdoses.
Most patients are intubated and have sitters when extubated.
All correction patients are shackled and guarded.
Charge Nurse does not take patients.
Intensivists are in-house 24/7.
Respiratory Therapists are available in ICU 24/7.
Equipment includes Vents, C-PAP, Bi-PAP, with specific models being Cervo I, Jets, and Oscillators.
Registered Nurses are required to read and interpret their own strips.
Weekend Requirements: 3 shifts every 4 weeks.
Holiday Requirements: Work in with core staff rotation.
Floating Requirements: ICU travelers will be required to float amongst all ICU areas and Med-Surg/Tele units.
Travelers must understand this expectation and cannot refuse floating assignments.
Documentation of understanding is required on the prescreen interview form.
Unit/Department specific orientation includes 2 shifts on the floor.
Bedside procedures include Bronchoscopy, Tracheostomy, and Hemodialysis Catheter placements.
