Travel Nurse RN – PCU in Lafayette, LA

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Provide continuous monitoring and nursing care for high-acuity patients transitioning from ICU or requiring advanced medical attention.

• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips per hospital protocol.

• Manage non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP) and high-flow oxygen therapy.

• Start peripheral IVs and monitor for complications.

• Respond to telemetry changes and initiate appropriate clinical interventions.

• Accurately document assessments, medications, and treatments in Cerner EMR.

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams for care planning.

• Float to other units within scope if needed

Requirements:

• Experience: 18+ months of recent PCU/stepdown experience

• Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS

• Certifications Preferred: NIHSS, Conscious Sedation

• License: Active IN State RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)

• First-Time Travelers: Accepted

• Locals Accepted: No

• Pending License: Not accepted

• RTO Restrictions: Must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays

• Floating: May float within scope as needed
