Job Title: Stepdown/PCU RNProfession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intermediate Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Must have active Illinois license to apply Certifications: BLS and NIH required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: – Telemetry experience – Neuro Stepdown experience – PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience – Cardiac monitoring skills – Emergency response skills – Interpretation of dysrhythmias – Management of dysrhythmias – Care for post-cardiac procedures Description: This position is for a Stepdown/PCU Registered Nurse. Shifts are either 3×12 or 4×12 days. The standard hours for the day shift are from 0645 to 1915. The nurse will work every other weekend. Candidates should have experience in telemetry and neuro stepdown. Required skills include cardiac monitoring and emergency response. Experience managing post-cardiac procedures, including angiograms, MIs, and cardiac surgery, is essential. Additional required skills include care of ventilated patients and the management of chest tubes. Candidates should also have experience with IV therapy and phlebotomy. Ability to manage medication protocols, including heparin and vasoactive drips, is necessary. Candidates must be able to interpret ABGs and manage tracheostomy care. Experience with wound care and isolation precautions is also required. Familiarity with Cerner is preferred. Teaching hospital experience and level I trauma experience are also preferred. Candidates must be prepared to float within the facility as needed. The environment is a Magnet-designated acute care hospital with level I trauma capabilities. Candidates should be adaptable, ensuring compliance with all facility needs.
