Description:
This is an ED HOLD unit, not a PCU unit.
RNs will have MS and PCU type patients in an ED boarding area.
The nurse will work with admitted patients within the Emergency Department that are MedSurg Tele and PCU level of care.
The role involves high patient admission, discharge, and transfers.
RNs may be asked to float to a MedSurg/PCU Unit.
The unit consists of patients that are sometimes boarded in designated areas of the hospital before transferring to a MedSurg/PCU unit.
There is a requirement to work every other weekend and to work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
Floating is required to accommodate unit needs.
Block scheduling accommodations will be discussed.
RNs must be adaptable to working in environments ranging from MS level of care to PCU/stepdown/ICU level of care.
The nurse is expected to work 36 hours in one workweek for 3 shifts or 48 hours for 4 shifts.
The orientation includes 12 non-billable hours.
Flu vaccine is required, with medical or religious exemptions only.
