License: Must have Indiana or compact nursing license
Certifications: ACLS and BCLS

Must-Have:
Proficient in cardiac monitoring
Management of chest tubes
Care of fresh tracheostomies
Feeding tube care and management
Care of postoperative patients
Management of epidurals
Management of non-titratable cardiac drips
IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips
External BiPAP/CPAP management
Total laryngectomy care
Doppler flap checks

Description:
First-time travelers accepted.
Locals are not accepted.
Call-ins require travelers to make up the day during the pay period if a 0.9 FTE or have shifts added at the end of their contract if unable to make up the shifts.
If a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract.
Travelers are expected to work every other weekend per their contract.
Consecutive weekends may be needed based on operational needs.
Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be required with training and resources provided.
Unit operates with a staffing ratio of 1:4.
Travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care with resources provided if needed.
Refusal to float may lead to termination of contract.
Surgical Progressive Care Unit has almost ICU level acuity.
Patients include ENT surgeries, thoracic surgeries, general surgical cases, and urology procedures.
Floating is required of all travelers within hospitals or nearby affiliated hospitals.
Candidates must provide two supervisor references.
Modules required before starting are non-billable and average 8-16 hours to complete.
Modules are reported via the organization’s online learning system.
Orientation consists of 12 hours and is non-billable.
