Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day/Night Rotations Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Two years current experience required in an 18-plus bed telemetry/progressive care unit; Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment License: State or Compact State Nursing License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; BLS and ACLS must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross Must-Have: Team player, flexible, accustomed to a fast-paced environment Description: Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients. Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses. Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team. Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care. Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy. Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care. Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel. Completes patient population/age-specific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
