Job Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse

Shift: 3 shifts per week
Hours per Shift: 12 hours
Experience: Two years current experience in an 18-plus bed telemetry/progressive care unit required
License: State Nursing License or Compact State Nursing License
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Must-Have: Successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment

Description:
Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift.
Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients.
Provide direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
Coordinate patient care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team.
Initiate, utilize, and document appropriate protocols and standards of care.
Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and document according to policy.
Identify and meet patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care.
Assume responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
Complete patient population/age-specific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment.
Epic EMR experience is preferred.
Traveler must provide or pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia/Dysrhythmia Assessment (BCA) exam prior to or during the first week of assignment.
Travelers that do not pass the BCA test will be dismissed.
An Associate’s Degree in Nursing is required.
BLS and ACLS must be completed through recognized organizations.
