Must-Have:
PCU experience
Ability to read cardiac strips

Description:
The unit has a total of 32 beds.
Nurse to patient ratios are 1:4-5, with occasional ratios of 5-6 on nights.
PCU level care overflow on the unit has a ratio of 1:3.
Common patient diagnoses include adults and geriatrics with cardiac conditions, ETOH, Covid, and pneumonia.
Experience with cardiac caths, EP studies, and pacers is preferred.
Patients may also present with acute on chronic conditions and influenza.
Candidates must have experience as a tele/cardiac RN and have familiarity with titratable drips.
Common titratable or set rate drips include Amio, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, and low-dose Dopamine.
There is a charge nurse available on each shift who occasionally takes a light patient load.
The unit has nurse aids/patient care techs with a goal of a 1:10 ratio.
RNs are expected to troubleshoot respiratory equipment such as Bipap, trachs, and airvo.
Tele/monitor techs are present to assist with monitoring needs.
RNs are required to read and interpret their own cardiac strips.
Shift scheduling includes rotations between day and night shifts, with the manager handling the scheduling.
Weekend and holiday requirements are every other week.
Floating to other areas may be required to assist with patient care.
The dress code allows for scrubs of any color.
Orientation will consist of 12 hours, with specific unit training provided.
Additional time off requests must be submitted upfront and may not be approved after submission.
