Must have Cardiac Progressive Care experience and be comfortable with 1:5 ratios.
3x12s, Days, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. with weekend rotation and holidays as needed.
Staff are scheduled for a 6-week period through a self-assisted schedule.
Staff assignments are based on departmental need and patient work intensity.
First-time travelers are welcome.
Previous Charge RN experience preferred.
Ratios are typically 1:4 with drips/BiPAP; otherwise, mostly 1:5.
Experience with EPIC is required.
Use of Rapid Response Teams is preferred.
Nurse Assistants are available 24/7.
An RN secretary is on duty from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Required skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care, peripheral line care, and management.
Clinical management includes cardiac drips and vasoactive drips without titration.
Procedural sedation administration and titration of cardiac drips are also required.
Experience with chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, and tracheostomy management is essential.
Focus is primarily on cardiac patients, including those with congestive heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, and arrhythmias.
Experience with respiratory issues such as COPD and pneumonia is secondary.
The unit is a private bed cardiac medical progressive care department, providing care 24/7.
Rooms are remotely monitored by a centralized cardiac monitoring department.
