Experience:
Experience with cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients and equipment in a progressive care unit is required.

License:
Active nursing license required.

Certifications:
ACLS and BLS certifications required.

Must-Have:
Travelers are required to work at least one holiday per 13-week assignment.
Travelers must work two out of the three major winter holidays.

Description:
This is a 24-bed progressive care unit specializing in the care of cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients.
The emphasis is on caring for cardiothoracic postoperative patients.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5, with a goal of 1:4.
All travelers are expected to float within their acuity.
Medical or religious exemptions are allowed for the COVID-19 and flu vaccines.
Compliance documents are due the Wednesday prior to the Monday start date.
Previous employees must be gone for a minimum of one year before returning as a traveler.
Travelers cannot return after working an assignment for 365 days, despite any separation period.
Orientation includes 24 hours of modules that may be completed during the first 24 hours of non-billable hours.
