DCH – Travel: PCU RN
Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals. Will accept 36 or 48 hours per week.
- Holidays as required by facility
- Every other weekend required
PCU is the ideal nursing unit if you are looking for an environment to develop a solid foundation for your nursing skills and foster a culture of family and teamwork. PCU is the only 24/7 acute care unit on the NMC campus that specializes in medical and surgical care and can accommodate up to 36 patients. Medical patients include dialysis and telemetry monitoring, along with other acute medical needs. Surgical patient populations include orthopedic procedures (fractures, shoulders, and backs) and general surgery (appendectomy, hernia repair, cholecystectomy, and colon resection). Our dedicated team of nursing and ancillary staff provides patient-centered care to support the patient’s recovery with the goal of reaching optimal patient outcomes. Strong focus is placed on pain management, mobility, and prevention of complications. Our team is dedicated to making our patients’ experience pleasant and comfortable in a safe and secure environment. The nurse/patient ratio is 1:6 and is supported by a Team Leader that is out of staffing.
Education – Required
- Associated degree in nursing
Certifications – Required
- AHA BLS
- AHA ACLS
- Red Cross also accepted
Licenses – Required
- Registered Nurse State of Alabama or Compact license (No Temp Licenses’ accepted)
- NURSYS
Experience – Required:
- 2 years experience; however, will consider 18 months of experience, working under the highest level of professional license, and must have 1 year of experience in the field of specialty.
