Description:
The Registered Nurse will work in an Intermediate Care setting.
The unit has 15 beds and provides care for patients requiring intermediate level care.
Patients are primarily adult and pediatric surgical and vascular clients.
The role involves close cardiac monitoring using advanced monitoring systems.
Monitoring capabilities include arterial and central venous pressures.
The patient population includes those post-transcatheter aortic valve replacement, post-carotid endarterectomy, and post-femoral popliteal bypass.
Additional responsibilities include management of respiratory ventilation and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
The nurse will also manage invasive lines, transvenous pacemakers, and chest tubes.
Every other weekend commitment is required.
Orientation is provided prior to the start of the assignment.
Qualified candidates should be prepared to float within their scope if necessary.
