Willingness to request a 90-day emergency license may be needed. Responsibilities include floating between Pre-op and PACU as required.The unit consists of 6 operating rooms and 4 endoscopy suites with a total of 10 recovery spaces.Nurse: patient ratios are as follows: 1:2 in Pre-op 1:1 or 1:3 in PACU 1:2 or 1:3 in RecoveryRequired certifications include BLS and ACLS, with PALS preferred.Common cases involve general surgery, gynecology, orthopedics, sports medicine, hand specialist, podiatry, ophthalmology, ENT, and endoscopy.Must have experience with Meditech EMR, with a mix of Meditech and paper charting.A charge nurse oversees each shift, with nurse aids available to support the nursing staff during patient admission and discharge.RNs are required to read and interpret rhythms and respond appropriately to life-threatening situations.Shifts consist of five 8-hour days, with varied start times. The schedule is managed by the designated scheduler, and flexibility is requested.No call or weekend requirements.Scrubs are provided for staff.Unit-specific orientation includes a general orientation, a scavenger hunt, 1-2 days with a preceptor, and an assigned buddy for support until comfortable.
