License: Must have an active state license in hand or be in the application process to apply
Certifications: BLS required; CNOR and CST preferred
Must-Have:
General OR and trauma experience required
Level I trauma experience required
Experience with laparoscopic assisted cases
Experience with general surgery cases, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, mastectomy, thyroidectomy, and Whipple
Experience with neurology cases, including cervical fusion, craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, and lumbar fusion
Experience with orthopedic cases, including arthroscopy, carpal tunnel release, and closed/open reduction of fractures
Experience with plastic surgery cases, including free flap and microvascular
Experience with transplant skills related to organ donation
Experience with urology cases, including cystoscopy, nephrectomy, and prostatectomy
Experience with trauma cases, including amputations and gunshot/stab wounds
Knowledge and skills in emergency management, including code response, fire safety, and latex allergy
Experience with equipment and instrumentation, including electrosurgical units and fiber optic light sources
Knowledge in administration of blood products, infection control, radiation safety, and specimen handling
Description:
This position is for an Operating Room RN.
The shift is 3×12 hours during the day.
Weekends will include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 07:00 to 19:00, with every third weekend being 19:00 to 07:00.
The facility has 23 operating rooms.
On-call duty is required with an expected frequency of about once a week, although it may happen less often.
The clinician may float within their scope to meet facility needs, though this occurs rarely.
All requested time off must be reviewed and approved by the manager.
The facility may call off up to 36 hours per assignment without compensation for the canceled hours.
Candidates must have experience across multiple service lines, with the exception of cardiovascular.
Special consideration will be given for prior experience in Cerner and Level I trauma environments.
A valid state license is required prior to starting the assignment.
Complete orientation will consist of 16 hours.
