Experience: Minimum 1 year experience required
License: Must have an active IL license in hand or be in the application process
Certifications: Chemo certification required, OCN and ONS/ONCC required
Must-Have: Required Chemotherapy Skills such as administration, monitoring, and communication of chemotherapy process
Job Description:
– Work primarily in an acute care hospital, a Magnet institution and Level I trauma center
– Administer chemotherapy treatments and manage relevant procedures, including handling bodily fluids, continuous infusion, IV push, and oral administration
– Recognize and communicate any abnormal lab values with the appropriate medical personnel
– Perform IV Therapy/Infusion tasks such as accessing ports, administering coagulation factors, antifungals, antivirals, and blood products
– Manage and care for ports, perform central line blood draws, and provide central line/PICC line care
– Start IVs and manage cytotoxic spills safely and efficiently
– Collaborate with the healthcare team to accommodate scheduling requests, including block schedules if necessary
– Work every other weekend and float to meet facility needs
– Complete 16 hours of orientation and required learning modules during the first week
– Ensure compliance with medical or religious exemptions for flu vaccinations
