Must-Have:
Significant experience with stroke management,
ICP management,
Seizure management,
Critical care patient management including titrating drips and invasive equipment.
Description:
RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite.
Any call-offs or additional RTO could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR.
The unit will not accept first-time travelers.
Locals are accepted.
Staffing ratios are 2:1, occasionally 3:1.
The unit will accept 13-week contracts.
There is a float requirement to other ICUs and intermediate units.
Every other weekend is required.
This is a neuro and surgical ICU within a comprehensive stroke center caring for various neurological patients.
Ideal candidates will have experience with ICP monitoring, ventilator management, and telemetry.
Special procedures include EVD management, ventilator management, and temperature management.
Common systems used include Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR.
Orientation consists of 8 hours, non-billable.
Scrubs should be navy blue or white or a combination of both.
Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty.
Candidates may float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals.
Travel pairs are allowed but must be submitted and work on different units.
Travelers cannot work more than 5 days in a row and/or more than 60 hours in a week.
References are required at the time of start.
Modules are non-billable and must be completed pre-start and annually.
