Certifications:
– BCLS
– NIHSS
– ACLS (preferred, not required)

Must-Have:
– 1 year of direct MedSurg floor Experience
– At least 1 year of travel experience, preferably 2 years
– IV Start and Telemetry skills
– Interpretation and Management of dysrhythmias experience

Description:
RTO after booking is not allowed.
Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit may lead to cancellation.
The unit primarily cares for stroke patients.
Other diagnoses include traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, epilepsy, and neurosurgery patients.
Unit ratios are 1:5-6.
The unit will accept contracts for 13 weeks, with a guaranteed 36 hours of work per week.
Travelers are required to work every other weekend.
Floating may be required to other medical/surgical and telemetry areas.
Frequent floating may occur.
Unit Orientation consists of 36 hours.
Candidates must pass EKG Testing prior to start.
Block scheduling is not guaranteed.
Travelers are expected to make up missed shifts within the same week or at the end of their contract.
Candidates will need to complete all required testing within 48 hours after signing.
Travel pairs are allowed but must work on different units.
Charting experience with Epic is preferred.
References are required at the time of start.
Travelers cannot work more than 5 days in a row or more than 60 hours in a week.
