Registered Nurse/MS/Tele:
Duration:13 Weeks
Shift: Night 3×12-Hour (19:00 – 07:30)
Day 3×12-Hour (07:30 – 19:30)
Description:
Registered Nurse (RN) in MS/Tele (Medical-Surgical/Telemetry) cares for patients with diverse medical conditions and those needing cardiac monitoring. They assess patients, administer medications, monitor telemetry readings, and respond to changes in condition. RNs in this role coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care. Strong assessment, communication, and multitasking skills are essential.
Minimum 2 + years of M/S level or higher required!
Oncology Experience Preferred but noi Required!
EPIC Experience Required!
Special Procedures/Unit Details:
Comprehensive Cancer Center, 318 acute care beds. All inpatient units/ 36 beds. Units are specialized by cancer diagnosis.
Floating to MedSurg units including:
• BMT
• Acute Leukemia
• Hematology
• Medical Oncology
• Gynecological Oncology
• Urology
• Colorectal
• Surgical Oncology
• Corrections Healthcare
-Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls
Certifications required:
• ACLS
• BLS
Staffing ratios – goal is 1:4, but can be 1:5
Weekends – variable based on unit needs
No set/blocked scheduling as that is not something we offer our permanent staff
Self-schedule requests – you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final schedule
First week of orientation is Mon – Fri dayshift. Five shifts of bedside orientation b/t weeks 2 and 3, then independent.
