Must-Have:
Experience in caring for patients after vascular, thoracic, colorectal, and general surgery.
Experience with chest tubes and drips such as Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, or amiodarone.
Experience with lines, tubes, drains for post-surgical patients.
Experience with tracheostomies and laryngectomies.
Experience in telemetry.
Experience with complex wounds.
Experience with central line care, maintenance, and blood draws.
Description:
This position requires a registered nurse for a medical/surgical unit.
The nurse will be expected to work rotating day and night shifts.
The assignment involves a patient ratio of 4:1 on days and 5:1 on nights.
The nurse may be required to float to different areas as needed.
The unit commonly manages patients with diagnoses such as ARDS, esophagectomies, whipples, and sepsis.
The unit has a capacity of 32 beds and shares staffing with a progressive care unit.
Candidates must have experience caring for surgical patients and performing necessary technical skills.
