Description:
Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the RN will function as a member of the Patient Care Team.
The RN will provide professional nursing care services to patients admitted, transferred, and discharged.
The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients, demonstrating the necessary knowledge and skills.
The RN will care for patients aged 16 and older.
All RNs are competent in general medical nursing and may be asked to float to any general medical unit throughout the facility.
The unit is currently a 13-bed unit, with plans to expand to an additional 10 beds.
The nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-5.
Dress code requires professional attire without childish scrub characters, as it is an adult unit.
Travelers will undergo Epic training and complete shifts with a unit preceptor for orientation.
The RN must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the ages of patients served.
Six to ten weeks of unit-specific orientation will be provided.
The RN should have strong interpersonal skills to comfort patients and communicate effectively with other care providers.
Analytical ability is required to assess patients’ physical, psychological, and social needs, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate responses to interventions.
The RN understands the importance of a drug-free environment and must complete a negative drug screening.
