Description:
Traveler will be responsible for self-studying telemetry strips upon acceptance.
A basic dysrhythmia test will be given during the first week of assignment.
This test must be passed in order to work on the telemetry/med-surg unit.
Delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
Coordinates care in collaboration with other health team members.
Effectively interacts with patients and significant others while maintaining high standards of professional nursing.
Provides high-quality care to patient populations including geriatrics, medical/surgical, adults, and telemetry.
Floats to non-critical care inpatient units as required, including the emergency department if there are boarded patients.
If the traveler has critical care experience, floating to critical care units may occasionally occur.
Requires every other weekend rotation.
Familiarity with electronic medical records is expected.
Telemetry ratios are currently 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights.
Med/surg ratios are currently 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights.
