Job Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week

Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty

License: Active RN license required

Certifications: BLS, NIHSS required; ACLS preferred

Must-Have: Experience in high-acuity settings with a fast-paced environment

Description:
Unit has a strict 75-mile radius rule for candidates.
Candidates must provide their address from their driver’s license.
The unit consists of 14 beds, with a ratio of 1:6 for both days and nights.
Candidates need to be able to handle these patient ratios.
BLS certification is required, and ACLS is preferred.
NIHSS certification is mandatory.
Candidates must have 2 years of experience in the medical surgical specialty.
Experience should include management of diabetic patients, Congestive Heart Failure, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, GI bleed, renal failure, and dialysis.
The unit also sees some overflow post-surgical patients, amputations, debridements, wound care, Deep Vein Thrombosis, alcohol withdrawal, and psychiatric cases.
Experience in a hospital setting is necessary, and prior work in a large organization with high acuity and patient turnover is preferred.
Candidates must prioritize patient satisfaction and quality of care.
Patient safety is a primary concern.
The facility uses primary care nursing.
Strict attendance policies are enforced.
Nurses may be pulled to assist in 1:1 patient care situations.
Candidates should expect to work every other weekend and rotate shifts with permanent staff.
Candidates are advised that only polished nails are permitted; artificial nails or shellac are prohibited due to infection control guidelines.
Cancellation policy applies every 12 hours bi-weekly.
The charting system in use is MEDITECH – 6.1.
A Bachelor’s degree in nursing is not required, but an active license is necessary.
This position will require collaboration with various care teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
