Job Description:

– Perform nursing duties in a medical surgical setting with a focus on providing patient care
– Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient treatment
– Participate in the floating to various departments, including Ortho/Neuro, Oncology, Acute Care, Cardiology, ICU, and ED
– Work with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, ensuring high-quality patient care standards
– Comply with weekend and holiday rotation requirements alongside permanent staff
– Utilize medical equipment such as BIPAP, CPAP, vapotherm, and Draegar
– Engage with computer-based charting systems using MEDITECH 6.1
– Adhere to cancellation policies and work with on-call low census requirements
– Participate in floor-specific orientation to acclimate to each unit’s procedures
– Adhere to required scrub color and uniform policy of Caribbean Blue
– Manage common diagnoses and patient types as required for medical surgical care
– Engage in continuous professional development to maintain required certifications

Shifts are from 6:45 AM with a combination of weekday, weekend, and rotation with permanent staff for holidays. The registered nurse must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the healthcare environment.
