Must-Have:
– Must be able to manage heparin drips, PCA, colostomy care, and feeding tube care.
– Experience in blood product administration, central line care, and peripheral line care.
– Proficient in phlebotomy, PICC line management, and IV starts.
– Experience in management of dysrhythmias and oxygen protocol.
– Knowledge of non-invasive airway management and isolation precautions.
– Familiar with traumatic brain injury, orthopedic trauma, surgical drains, and chest tubes.
– Wound care and EPIC documentation experience required.
Description:
This position is for an experienced registered nurse specializing in medical surgical care.
The nurse will work the night shift consisting of 12-hour shifts.
RTO after booking is not allowed, and any call-offs may lead to cancellation.
The ideal candidate must possess a comprehensive set of skills related to patient care management.
The target patient-to-nurse ratio is between 1:6-7.
The nurse will float to similar units or care locations as needed.
Weekend work will be required every other weekend.
Travelers must be prepared to work during catastrophic events or disasters.
The patient population includes those with severe injuries to bones, joints, and soft tissue, as well as neurological trauma.
Unit orientation will consist of a 12-hour training session followed by 16 hours of organizational education.
Scrubs will be navy in color.
Candidates must pass EKG Testing prior to the start for this specialty.
Documentation and reporting requirements are integral to the role.
