Description:
We are seeking a Hematology/Oncology RN with Med Surgical experience.
Candidates must have a valid driver’s license.
A fingerprint requirement is in place, and candidates must allow up to 10 days for processing.
A flu vaccine is required, with only medical exemptions accepted.
EPIC charting experience is required.
The unit handles hematology and oncology patients.
Certification in oncology is not required, but candidates with experience will be prioritized.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:5, adjusting for higher acuity patients.
Required certifications include BLS, with ACLS for charge nurses.
Common diagnoses involve hematology/oncology and chemotherapy.
Experience with titrating drips such as heparin is necessary; cardiac drips handled by a dedicated unit.
All units are equipped for tele-monitoring.
Charge nurses may assist with patient assignments as needed.
All staff may float between medical surgical units within their skillset.
Shifts are 12 hours, with options for self-scheduling when possible.
Weekend and holiday rotations are required.
Scrubs must be in solid colors and professional.
Orientation includes paperwork, unit tours, and scheduling discussions.
The charting system used is Epic Systems Corporation.
This is an acute care setting with a trauma level of 1.
