Must-Have:
General Med/Tele skillset including:
– Stroke experience
– Cardiac rhythm interpretation
– Trach care
– Peripheral IV starts
– Chest tube management
– Nasogastric tube placement
– Drain/tube management
– Foley insertion and management
– Medication drip management

Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in MedSurg/Tele.
The facility consists of licensed beds and focuses on decompressing emergency departments and specialty areas.
The patient population includes adults and geriatrics.
Common diagnoses include COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF exacerbation, falls with injuries, motor vehicle collision injuries, pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis, urinary tract infections, pneumothorax, gastrointestinal bleeds, and cerebrovascular accidents.
Patient ratios are as follows: 1:5 in one unit and 1:4 in others.
Support within the department includes Certified Nursing Assistants who assist with vital signs, hygiene care, and other patient needs.
There is a secretary on-site to help with administrative tasks.
Charge nurses assist with all units and monitoring of telemetry patients.
Phlebotomy and IV teams are available around the clock.
A resource nurse team is present for additional support.
Hospitalists are available to cover patients 24/7.
Telemetry monitoring is conducted by nursing staff.
Floating may be required based on regional needs.
Travelers will be compensated for time spent traveling between facilities mid-shift.
Weekend rotation is every other weekend, with no on-call requirements.
Travelers are expected to work a percentage of holidays.
Requests for time off can be made with limits.
Scrub color is navy blue.
