General Med/Tele skillset, including stroke experience and cardiac rhythm interpretation
Experience with trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, and drain/tube management
Familiarity with PCA pump and medication management for cardiac drips and blood products

Description:
Registered Nurse position available in MedSurg/Tele specialty.
The facility is a Level I Trauma Teaching Hospital.
Focus is on decompressing the Emergency Department and other specialty areas within the hospital.
Common patient types include adults and geriatrics.
Common diagnoses include COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF exacerbation, fall-related injuries, MVC with injuries, pulmonary embolism, DVT, UTI, pneumothorax, GI bleeds, and CVA.
Patient ratios vary by unit, with ranges from 1:4 to 1:5.
Support staff includes CNAs who assist with vital signs, hygiene care, and patient needs, among other duties.
A secretary is available for administrative support across units.
Charge nurses are present to assist with coordination and patient care.
Phlebotomy services and IV/VAT teams are available 24/7.
Hospitalists and intensivists are also present around the clock, providing continuous patient coverage.
Technology used includes EMR, IV pumps, and monitoring equipment.
Floating will be required within the region as needed, in accordance with scope of practice.
Orientation consists of departmental training over two days.
Employees will participate in weekend rotations every other week and will work 75% of holidays.
Requests for time off can be approved for up to six days, not including holidays.
