Must-Have:
– General Med/Tele skillset
– Stroke experience
– Cardiac rhythm interpretation
– Ability to perform trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, and drain/tube management
– Medication management skills including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IV fluids
Description:
RN – MedSurg/Tele position available.
The facility consists of licensed beds and provides various specialized services.
The unit primarily focuses on decompressing the emergency department and other specialty areas.
Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with common diagnoses such as COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF exacerbation, falls with injuries, motor vehicle collision injuries, pulmonary embolism, DVT, UTI, pneumothorax, GI bleeds, and CVA.
Patient ratios vary by area.
A dedicated charge nurse and secretary support the unit, assisting with administrative and patient care tasks.
Resource nurses and hospitalists are available 24/7 to provide care and support.
Telemetry monitoring is performed by nursing staff, without a dedicated telemetry technician.
Scheduling includes weekend rotation every other week and holiday expectations require working 75% of holidays.
Travelers can request time off, with up to 6 days approved, excluding holidays.
