Must-Have:
– General Med/Tele skillset including stroke experience and cardiac rhythm interpretation
– Ability to manage trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, and medication drip management

Description:
This position requires a MedSurg/Tele RN to work in a fast-paced environment.
The facility is a teaching hospital with a focus on patient care.
The unit consists of multiple med-surg and med-tele units.
The primary focus is to decompress the emergency department and specialties within the hospital.
It caters to adults and geriatric patients with common diagnoses including COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF exacerbation, and more.

Patient ratios are as follows:
– 1:5 on certain units
– 1:4 on others

Support staff includes CNA and secretarial support for patient care and administrative tasks.
Charge nurses and resource nurses are also available to assist on the unit.
Phlebotomy and IV/VAT teams are available 24/7.
Telemetry monitoring is conducted by the nursing team, with a primary nurse responsible for completing interpretations.

This position requires flexibility to float within the region as needed.
Travelers will be required to work every other weekend and 75% of holidays.
Up to six days off may be approved, excluding holidays.
Scrub color is navy blue.
