Job Description

Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in Medical Surgical nursing.
Must have at least 1 year of travel experience.
Preferred 2 years of previous travel experience.

License:
Active Nursing License

Certifications:
BCLS
NIH
NIHSS
ACLS (preferred, not required)

Must-Have:
IV Start and Telemetry
Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Medical/Surgical neuro experience

Description:
RTO after booking is not allowed.
RTO must not be worked out on-site.
Any call-offs or additional RTO could lead to a cancellation.
Travelers must be willing to float to other areas as needed, including potential COVID care units.
Patients primarily include stroke patients and those with various neuro diagnoses.
Unit has a 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.
Unit trains nurses for the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.
The daily nursing census averages 42.
The typical room count is 43.
Travelers are expected to work every other weekend.
If a traveler calls in for a scheduled weekend shift, they will need to make up the shift.
There is a required 36 hours of orientation.
EKG testing must be passed prior to start in this specialty.
Travelers may be required to float based on the unit’s needs.
There is a 1:5-6 patient ratio on the unit.
The unit operates with specific charting and electronic systems.
Module completion is required prior to starting.
All certification and licensing requirements must be fulfilled prior to beginning the contract.
