License: NC or Compact license required
Certifications: BCLS, NIH, NIHSS; ACLS preferred
Must-Have:
– Minimum 1 year of travel experience in a Medical-Surgical setting
– Must have experience with IV starts and telemetry
– Competence in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias
– Medical/Surgical neuro experience required
Description:
RTO after booking is not allowed.
Any call-offs or additional RTO may result in a cancelation.
The unit primarily cares for stroke patients.
Additional patients include those with possible neurosurgery conditions and other neuro diagnoses.
Existing special procedures include a 4-bed epilepsy monitoring unit.
Nurses in this role will undergo training but this typically doesn’t affect travelers.
Team members are expected to work every other weekend.
Floating is required to other Medical-Surgical/Telemetry areas.
Frequent floating may involve assignments in COVID care units.
Travelers are required to make up any missed shifts.
All travelers must pass EKG testing prior to starting.
References are preferred from within the last 12 months.
Travel pairs are allowed but must be submitted for different units.
The role includes a daily census of approximately 42 patients across 43 rooms/beds.
All shifts require flexibility and the ability to float as needed.
