Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in MedSurg/Tele.
The facility has 241 licensed beds and is a Level 3 Trauma center.
It serves as a teaching hospital.
The unit information indicates 24 beds with an average daily census of 24.
Patient types and common diagnoses include various cardiac, respiratory, and neuro conditions.
The work environment is fast-paced, focusing on observation.
Patient ratios are RN: 1:5-6 for both day and night shifts, with a CNA ratio of 1:12.
Support is provided within the department by various staff members, including a clinical assistant.
The unit has access to phlebotomy, IV/VAT teams, and respiratory therapy available 24/7.
A hospitalist is present on days, with virtual support in the evenings and overnight.
Intensivist services are available around the clock.
Telemetry monitoring is done remotely with the help of a telemetry technician.
The technology and equipment used include an electronic medical record system, IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, and patient monitors.
Floating may be required within the region and scope of practice.
Orientation includes departmental training.
Weekend rotation is required every other weekend.
There is no on-call duty.
Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays.
Requests for time off can include up to 6 days, not including holidays, and any additional time must be added to the end of the contract.
Shift times are either from 0645-1915 or 1845-0715 with a scheduling cycle every 6 weeks.
