Experience: Minimum 2 Years in Med/Tele RN Experience
License: Registered Nurse (RN)
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Must-Have:
– Basic Med/Tele skill set
– Cardiac rhythm interpretation
– Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem/Amiodarone)
– Wound care
– Drain/tube management
– Peripheral IV starts
– Central line management
Job Description:
– Work in a unit with 32 beds and an average census of 28.
– Care for patients with common diagnoses such as total joint replacements, colon resection, gallbladder issues, appendectomy, amputations, hip fractures, SBO, and NG tubes.
– Manage patient ratios of 1:5-6 during nights along with available support from CNAs.
– Perform duties collaboratively with CNAs responsible for vital signs, baths, mobility, turning, and blood sugar monitoring.
– Utilize Receptionist/HUC for rounds and secretary duties and a charge nurse resource to assist with all nursing care.
– Technological resources include an EMR system, IV pumps, and medication dispensing systems.
– Participate in floating across designated regions and facilities as required based on scope of practice; compensation provided during travel between facilities.
– Complete a two-day departmental orientation.
– Adhere to a professional dress code in navy blue scrubs.
