Job Title: Medical Surgical Telemetry Nurse

Must-Have:
Cardiac skills and cardiac rhythm interpretation
Basic non-titrated cardiac drips experience (Cardizem and Amiodarone)
General Med-Surg skills including trach care, wound care, drain and tube management
Description:
This facility has 174 licensed beds.
It is not a trauma designation facility.
The facility only supports community schools of nursing.
It is part of a chest pain network but is not a designated chest pain center.
The facility is TJC Stroke accredited.
The unit has an average patient census of 32.
The unit has a patient-centered culture that promotes engagement and collegial behaviors.
The patient types include COPD, CHF, chest pain, myocardial infarction, N-STEMI, stroke, TIA, and new onset cardiac arrhythmia.
Patients may be post-surgical or medical, as the unit functions as an overflow area.
The typical patient ratio is RN: 1:5, LPN (if applicable): 1:5-6, and CNA: 1:8-9.
Nursing support is provided by CNA for activities of daily living, ambulation, and meal assistance.
Charge nurses generally have no patient assignments and are supported by team leads.
Phlebotomy services are available.
An IV/VAT team is present for IV management.
Resource nursing support is provided by team leads and clinical supervisors.
Telemetry monitoring and support are available 24/7.
General med-surg and telemetry monitoring equipment are utilized on the unit.
Traveling nurses may be required to float to other facilities within their scope of practice.
Floating may occur as needed, with compensation for travel time remaining on the clock.
Orientation includes departmental training lasting 2 days.
Scrub color required is navy.
