Must-Have:
Cardiac skills/telemetry reading knowledge
General Med-Surg RN skills including IV starts, drain/tube management, wound care, NGT placement, and central line management
Ability to manage non-titrating cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin gtts, and blood products

Description:
Facility has 174 licensed beds.
No trauma designation.
It is a teaching hospital associated with community schools of nursing.
Not a designated chest pain center but part of a broader chest pain network.
Facility is TJC stroke accredited.
Traveler’s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of the home unit.

The unit has 44 beds with an average daily patient census of 44.
The unit’s patient population is cardiac-focused, treating conditions like chest pain, myocardial infarction, N-STEMI, new onset cardiac arrhythmia, medical overflow, and potential stroke patients.
Patient ratios for RNs are 1:4-5, and if applicable, LPNs and CNAs have similar ratios.

Nursing support includes CNAs who assist with activities of daily living, ambulation, patient care, and meal assistance.
A receptionist and charge nurse are present, with charge staff generally having no patient assignments and supported by a team lead.
Phlebotomy and ancillary departments are available 24/7 for additional support.
Telemetry monitoring and tech support are centralized and available round-the-clock.
Resource nursing is provided by team leads and clinical supervisors.

Floating within the region and scope of practice may be required.
Travelers will be compensated for travel time if floating mid-shift.
A two-day departmental orientation will be provided.
