Job Title: Registered Nurse

Shift: 12-hour Night Shift
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Experience: Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required
License: Registered Nurse
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Must-Have:
– Proficiency in cardiac skills and cardiac rhythm interpretation
– Experience with basic non-titrated cardiac drips including Cardizem and Amiodarone
– General medical-surgical skills such as trach care, wound care, and management of drains and tubes

Job Description:
– Facility includes 174 licensed beds
– Not a trauma designated or chest pain center
– Accredited stroke center
– Community-focused training hospital
– Average census of the unit: 32 patients
– Accepts first-time travelers

Key Responsibilities:
– Provide patient-centered care in a supportive and non-retaliatory environment
– Handle a variety of patient types, including those with COPD, CHF, chest pain, MI, N-STEMI, stroke, and TIA
– Attend to post-surgical and medical patients with a wide range of diagnoses
– Maintain patient ratios of RN: 1:5 and collaborate with LPNs and CNAs as needed
– Collaborate with CNAs for nursing support, ADLs, ambulation, patient care, meal assistance, and delegated duties
– Work with a team that includes a receptionist/HUC, charge nurse without patient assignment, clinical supervisors, phlebotomy and IV/VAT team, and 24/7 respiratory therapy, hospitalist, and intensivist support
– Utilize technology such as Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors
– Be prepared to float within the region and scope of practice as needed

– Orientation includes onboarding days specific to the department
– Required to wear navy scrubs
