PIV starts

NG tube placement/management
Pleurx drain management
Management of various surgical drains
Chest tube management
Peritoneal dialysis experience (preferred)

Description:
This is for a blended unit focusing on nephrology and oncology.
The facility has 457 licensed beds and is a trauma center.
It is recognized as a teaching hospital and a center of excellence for chest pain and stroke care.
The unit has 14 private rooms with no negative pressure capability.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5.
Certified Nursing Assistants assist the nursing team with activities of daily living, bathing, foley care, mobility, turning, repositioning, phlebotomy, 12-lead EKGs, and glucometer checks.
Phlebotomy is a combined effort between RNs, CNAs, and an IV team.
A real-time telemetry monitoring system is in place for patients requiring tele supervision.
Orientation includes 2 days of departmental training.
The unit culture is professional and team-oriented.
Scrub color is navy blue.
