Must-Have: General Med/Tele skillset including:
– Stroke experience
– Cardiac rhythm interpretation
– Trach care
– PIV starts
– Chest tube management
– NGT placement
– Drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management, etc.)
– PCA pump management
– Medication gtt management including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, IVF

Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse for our MedSurg/Tele department.

The facility encompasses 457 licensed beds and is a Trauma Level III center.

It serves as a teaching hospital and is designated as a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center of Excellence.

The nursing team fosters a great environment, with activities such as a unit book club and Netflix watching clubs.

Patients commonly present with various diagnoses, including chest pain, rule out stroke, syncope, dizziness, and respiratory illnesses.

Nurse-to-patient ratios are approximately 1:4-5 for RNs and on days, 1:7 for CNAs; and nights, 1:10 for CNAs.

The unit consists of 23 beds with an average daily census of 21 patients.

Support within the department includes access to supervisors and charge RNs, as well as hospitalist services available around the clock.

The team collaborates with phlebotomy and IV/VAT teams for optimal care.

Traveling nurses may be required to float to other facilities within a designated region per practice scope.

Orientation includes two days of departmental training.
