Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Specialty: MedSurg/Telemetry with a focus on Nephrology and Oncology

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: 12-hour Night Shift

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Experience: Minimum 2 years in Med/Tele

License: Active RN License

Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Must-Have:
– Proficiency in PIV starts, experience with dialysis catheter management, NG Tube placement and management, Pleurx drains, management of various surgical drains, chest tube management
– Peritoneal Dialysis experience is preferred
– Comfortability with port accessing preferred for experienced Oncology RNs
– Open to professional and team-oriented unit culture

Job Description:
– Provide nursing care in a blended unit specializing in Nephrology and Oncology
– Support medical needs for patients with conditions like ESRD, AKI, and those requiring fluid resuscitation or blood products
– Care for oncology patients, including those with Neutropenic Fever and those requiring chemotherapy/biotherapy
– Maintain efficient patient ratios with RN to patient ratio of 1:4-5
– Collaborate with CNAs to support ADLs, bathing, foley care, mobilization, turning, and repositioning
– Work alongside a team that includes a Charge Nurse, phlebotomy support, and an IV/VAT Team
– Utilize technology and equipment like Epic EMR, Alaris IV Pump, Omnicell, Phillips Monitors, bladder scanner, EKG machine, and transport monitor
– Adhere to unit safety standards and contribute to a supportive, collaborative workplace environment
– Complete a 2-day departmental orientation to ensure effective adaptation to unit standards and requirements
