Job Description

**Job Title:**
RN – Acute Care Float Nurse

**Job Specialty:**
Registered Nurse / Licensed – Inpatient

**Job Duration:**
13 weeks

**Shift:**
Night, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM, every other weekend including 2 major and 2 minor holidays

**Guaranteed Hours:**
[Guaranteed Hours to be included]

**Experience:**
Less than 1 year; Completion of an accredited/approved school of nursing with required clinical hours. Direct patient care experience preferred.

**License:**
Registered Nurse (Single State) or Multi-state Compact

**Certifications:**
– ACLS
– BLS (Basic Life Support)
– NIHSS
– RN License

**Must-Have:**
– Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
– Basic computer skills and ability to optimize the use of technology
– Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer service skills
– Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, respond to emergencies decisively and respectfully
– Excellent time management and critical thinking skills

**Job Description:**

– Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide individualized, evidence-based clinical care.
– Deliver relationship-based, patient-centered care, considering population-specific characteristics and cultural diversity.
– Collaborate with patients and significant others, communicating effectively and making patient goals the focus of the plan of care.
– Coordinate and document safe, quality patient care, promoting diverse interdisciplinary communication and a respectful clinical environment.
– Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration, supporting recruitment and retention, and engaging in performance improvement activities.
– Complete all professional competency assessments and required education. Serve as a mentor or preceptor to other nurses and staff, promoting a qualified workforce.
– Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement, engaging in data collection and consultation to advance practice.
– Plan proactively for patient care across the continuum, supporting protocol development to achieve best practice outcomes.
– Efficiently use human and material resources to enhance patient care.
– Comply with all health system policies, standards, and codes of conduct.
