Heparin IV administration experience
Every other weekend
2 major holidays, 2 minor holidays

Description:
The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers.
They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care.
They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and supported through a governance model.
The framework for practice is guided by a professional practice model and evidence-based practice and research.
RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by core values.
All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing.
They implement the scope of practice and code of ethics standards as defined by a professional association.
As a member of the patient services team, individuals must uphold the voice of the patient.
They must also adhere to system policies and procedures while supporting service excellence goals.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
The RN Clinical Nurse performs the Nursing Process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in delivering clinical care.
They utilize evidence-based practice and analytical thinking to ensure care is individualized.
They coordinate care through effective partnerships, recognizing that caring is central to optimal patient care outcomes.
Patient-centered care is provided that reflects an understanding of diversity.
The RN always partners with the patient and significant others, keeping them updated and focusing on their goals for care.
They practice according to current clinical standards.

Teamwork and Collaboration:
The RN coordinates and documents the delivery of safe, quality patient care that promotes a professional care delivery model.
This includes effective interdisciplinary communication, timely documentation, and promoting a respectful, inclusive environment.
They demonstrate teamwork by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner and supporting the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
The RN participates in performance improvement initiatives and supports shared governance at all levels.

Professional Development:
The RN completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and required education.
They may serve as a preceptor or mentor for other nurses and staff, modeling professional practice.

Evidence-Based Practice and Research:
The RN promotes evidence-based practice and participates in relevant research activities.
They uphold organizational policies, clinical competencies, and accreditation requirements.
Participation in data collection and posing clinical questions is expected.

Resources and Support:
The RN proactively plans for patient care while giving direct care.
They may participate in developing protocols and procedures in collaboration with the care team.
The RN supports the efficient use of resources and performs other duties as assigned.
