Job Description

Job Title: RN Clinical Nurse

Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Description:

The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers who ensure that patients and their families receive high-quality, safe patient care.

They practice in a clinical environment supported through shared governance and professional practice models.

The framework for practice includes evidence-based practice and research, supported by core values.

All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the nursing practice as outlined by relevant professional standards and ethics.

As a member of the patient services team, it is expected that the individual upholds the voice of the patient, follows system policies, and supports service excellence goals.

Perform the Nursing Process using evidence-based practice and critical thinking to ensure individualized care.

Provide relationship-based patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics.

Communicate and collaborate effectively in interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, quality patient care.

Maintain professionalism and fiscal responsibility while promoting recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.

Participate and support performance improvement and research to promote safe, quality patient care.

Complete all professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population-specific education.

Serve as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses.

Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement.

Uphold all organizational policies and clinical competencies including legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards.

Participate in data collection and consult appropriate resources and evidence to address practice questions.

Plan proactively for patient care across the continuum during direct patient care.

Participate in the development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes.

Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Comply with all organizational policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
