Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Medical-Surgical unit.
The unit has 32 beds and 50 staff members.
Day shift includes 1 charge nurse, 6 RNs, and 3 patient care technicians.
Night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 5 RNs, and 2 patient care technicians.
Patient ratios are 1 nurse per 5 patients during the day and 1 nurse per 6 patients at night.
The unit uses Welch Allyn vital signs machines and i-mobile iPhones for communication.
The EMR system used is Meditech.
The unit typically recruits travel RNs, local CNAs, and sitters.
Experience with transplants, dialysis, and diabetic patients is preferred but not required.
Typical procedures include all surgical procedures and kidney transplants.
The ideal candidate is a team player who takes initiative.
The dress code requires navy scrubs.
The unit received the Unit of Distinction award in 2021.
